if you are suing an insurance company, are you suppose to communicate with the med. adj. or is the attorney?
If you have an attorney, by law, the adjuster can only speak to your attorney. If you call him or her they will tell you to ask the question of your attorney, have your attorney call them, they will get the answer & then your attorney has to call you back to give you the answer. That is the way it works once you have an attorney. It slows the process down, a lot. Also, you normally have to send your medical bills through the attorney & they may not send them in right away. This can cause problems when the medical providers want to be paid.
You will be paying your attorney 1/3-1/2 of your settlement so make him or her work for it. Remember, your injury is worth what it is worth, no matter how much in medical bills you have. The adjusters will not pay you more if you overtreat & YOUR medical adjuster may send you to an IME (independent medical exam) if they feel you have come to your final outcome & won’t get any better.
